Hi all. I suffer from the issue some people are experiencing where certain keys double register when typing. In this case it's my 'b' key. I went to the Apple store to get them to note I am experiencing the issue and they said they would have to replace the whole top half of the laptop to fix the issue but anyone who has had that done hasn't had any more issues.

He also said in the mean time I can try to find a program that would prevent the letter `b` from typing twice as a temporary workaround. I'd like to try to find a program like that so I can hold off replacing the keyboard until Apple has a guaranteed fix but I haven't been able to find any programs that do what I described. Does anyone know of anything that I can configure to not register the second `b` when I press the key?

Haven't heard of such a program, but it would be handy!

Some people just pressed hard on the key and massaged it around some and reported success, others found that didn't help.

Hi! I landed here trough Google (where else but here or OSX Daily :) )

The massaging of in my case the key number 6 - basically pressing the key and moving around with the pressure over the different corners and the middle of the key + frenetically bashing repeatedly with my finger, as well as the "5" and "7"

...

made the issue disappear... !:)

Thanks for mentioning this, I hope this solution sticks (unintentional dry humour)

I can also confirm massaging the key (in my case the 0 key) around for 20 seconds really hard, worked..thank you for the solution.
