I have had mine tbMBP 15" for a couple of days now, and I'm far from loving it. My biggest issue with it is the big trackpad which annoy me as hell, it's way to big. I can't get used to the keyboard, the sound and feel of it, feels cheap. The touch bar crash way to often, and most of the futures I've tried with it so far is quicker done with your trackpad/mouse. Right now I feel like going back to my rMBP.

On the plus side is the speakers, they are really amazing. The screen is beautiful and the machine is pretty fast.

I have the 13" tbMBP at the moment, and I do like it minus the battery life and the graphic screen freezes that HAVE NOT been solved with the recent update.

I DO NOT recommend this machine to family because of the cost or the battery life.

I DID however recommend the non-tbMPB to someone yesterday. For most people that machine makes more sense.

The tbMBP is very much a gen-1 Apple product that shouldn't feel that way because the MacBook Pro is a not new. New designs shouldn't have major battery flaws.

I would currently not recommend the new MBP to friends and family due to all these minor bugs, which I feel are all software related. I shouldn't need to restart my computer every day because Safari feels like sipping more juice than usual. I shouldn't need to force-reboot my machine because it won't wake up properly with an external monitor plugged in (I get a hanging black screen 1/4 of the time). I shouldn't need to re-input my fingerprints because the MBP crashed while it was in sleep mode.

As much as I am annoyed by these bugs, I do enjoy the 15" MBP. I feel like Apple rushed the MBP to the market to capture holiday sales. It's very un-Apple like to have such a beta-device experience. Should the software be fixed, and possibly a minor price cut be introduced, I would then recommend the 2016 MBPs.

I just dove in and picked up the tbMBP15 2.7 16/512 in silver. It's only been a few hours, but so far it's better than expected from just reading MR. Coming from a 2013 MBA it is a serious improvement in the screen department and I think the keyboard is good if a little loud. The screen is hypnotically beautiful though and battery appears to be draining at a respectable rate still having 66%. Played a little Civ VI to enjoy the new graphics and watched some MVA videos.

Battery life was never an issue. Various hardware problems, though. Trackpad not registering clicks well. One machine had one line go out on its display. Not the video glitches other people are reporting, just one line going out. Another lost the ability to use any kind of power input, which killed it fairly quickly. (I guess arguably a "battery life" issue, but the only answer that would have made that tolerable would have been "infinite battery life.") Keyboard was a serious step down for me, both in losing the function key row and the horrible lack of key travel.

So I'm on "will not recommend to basically anyone". Got my spouse a 2015, got myself a dell.

I would recommend to buy it (13") if you know what you are buying...

personally I hate the keyboard... it is awful and I don't know how much time it takes to get me used to it. the middle of the keyboard sounds hollow, both corners are silent at the same time. the screen is odd... it has very narrow view angles.. if you use it on your lap, the bottom seems to be abit yellowish (certain colours).. if you turn the screen more down from you, the colour is normal. lots of things I need to get used to... but the keyboard... like a bass is drumming all the time. and sometimes I seem to lay my hands on the touchbar and something weird happens... I thought it would be impossible... but it will happen...

I don't have any issues with it. The screen is perfect, no battery issues, no graphic glitches or so... I think this is just overpriced.

No comparison, go for the 2016 - newer is always usually better no matter how many ways people here dissect 'issues' with the new TB MBP. Its a great machine all around hands down! Sure batter is not the best things i've ever seen, but certainly 10 hrs or so.. plenty good!!
