Hello!

Can any mbpro2018 owner show me some graphic test? Or compare it with 2017!

Because it seems it will be a small upgrade, but quadcore and 128mb edram could be a large improvement for gaming!

Thak you!

Thank you! I see it but it fits perfect for high gaming performance!

i'll play casual videogame when i'm out for work, games like league of legends, hearthstone, overwatch, ad i know pro17 runs them well, but i want to see if there are some improvement!

BlackMagic is a waste of money. You can’t swap the GPU if you ever need to upgrade later. I recommend going for alternative ones as Razer Core X.

Razer Core X supports the Mac and it supports old, current and future GPUs by both NVIDIA and AMD. It also has a replaceable power supply unit if at anytime a GPU comes out with a PSU requirement higher than what it has (650w).

Razer core X still 300$ without any gpu, can't drive by itself your monitor and it is loud as fxxx.
If money is no object buy the blackmagic, and after 2-3 years...buy another one probably with the Vega Gpu

A BlackMagic eGPU costs $699. Razer Core X costs $299 and an AMD RX 580 8GB overclocked costs $275 on Amazon (US). That’s $574 in total. You get the same GPU and future proof your investment.

The only bad thing about Razer Core X is that it offers no USB-C,A or Thunderbolt output. There are others who do though for a similar pricing.

I love the look of the Blackmagic eGPU Apple unveiled, but I can’t justify the price given there is no way to upgrade the GPU in the future. Currently, the Razer Core X gets my vote for eGPU. I am seriously considering a purchase myself.

OWC Helios FX? Touted as 'Whisper Quiet"?

I bit more than the Razer Core X but specifically listed on Apple's 'approved' list. Not that that really stands for anything as such. It looks to me to be a rebranded Sonnet Breakaway 550 but I don't know for sure.

Why exactly is it that the GPU can't be upgraded? Is it using a custom PCB with the GPU soldered onto it with a custom cooling apparatus as well? You'd think Apple would have learned not doing that after the failure of the "trashcan" Mac Pro... 😛

It's not actually a product from Apple. They just sell and recommend it. 😉

I seem to recall reading it was co-developed with Apple. Maybe a modification of the truth, I dunno, but why would a small peripheral maker create an unupgradeable (and very expensive) eGPU? That's a very Apple-ish thing to do.
