Hi!

I got my MacBook Pro 2018 15" with four usb-c ports. I also have two 24" monitors. To connect the two monitors to my MacBook Pro, I have the HyperDrive Slim. It has one HDMI and one Mini DisplayPort connector. Both monitors are connected to the HyperDrive Slim. My current setup is this:

Monitor 1: HDMI
Monitor 2: DisplayPort --> Mini DisplayPort

So I thought: plug-in the HDMI cable and the Mini DisplayPort cable into the HyperDrive Slim. Both external monitors showing as a single monitor (extended) on my MacBook Pro 2018. The monitors are mirroring.. When I plug-in each monitor apart from each other, the monitors work. But together they are not working..

Also tested this on Windows 10 with Bootcamp. Exact same result, with two monitors, both monitors get mirrored and detected as a single monitor.

Is it possible to connect two monitors (not mirroring) though a single usb-c cable on the MacBook Pro?

This is false advertising. usb-c cannot do more than single 4K@30 when also carrying usb 3.1 signals. Even without USB you could get at most single 4k@60. To their credit they never said those 'dual 4k' displays are supposed to work in extended mode, maybe they just mirror the signal inside of this hub, that would be pretty evil. Two 1080p should work in USB-c dock. If you want two 4k or more get TB3 dock.
