I am currently using the 2019 13” MacBook Pro with four thunderbolt ports. If I were to switch to MacBook Air 2020 i5 Quad core, will I experience a huge drop in performance?

I am not a fan of the Touch Bar thus contemplating this downgrade.

Any advice?

If you're regularly pushing your MBP to the limit (such as in video editing), then yes you will.
If you're not, then you probably won't notice any drop at all.

I am using it for mobile development thus using software like Xcode and Android Studio.

I think I will probably keep for current 13" MacBook Pro despite preferring the new magic keyboard and without the touchbar as performance might get a hit with my current workflow.
