Once upon a time Apple was pushing forward WiFi. Unfortunately not yesterday, which is disappointing for "Pro" machines. They are supporting WiFi 6E like the M2 machines.

That is sad. Whilst Apple has always lagged the competition on RAM and storage, they always addopted WiFi standards early.

how will they make you wanna upgrade next year if they give you everything this year?

I’m waiting for this as well but can’t really fault Apple too much as Wi-Fi 7 still isn’t formally ratified yet (although that hasn’t stopped other companies pushing out devices with the draft standard).

Did Apple ever add support for a WiFi standard before formalization? Wi-Fi 7 wouldn't be finalized until mid 2024.

Apple is always takes 12-18 months adopt Broadcom's latest wireless chips. So you can expect it in mid- to late-2024.
