Hi guys,

I am pulling my hair out, I'm trying to get 10.4 installed on a MacBok Pro 4,1. I've seen others on this forum post that they have it working (complete with screenie)

I've tried a net install of 10.4.10 to an external drive and firewire booted it, it went to a kernel panic. I then tried installing some nvidia kexts and while it boots, it hangs right after the OS loading bar and doesn't go anywhere. I've tried updating to 10.4.11 as well, no go.

Would it be worthwhile to net install it directly on the MacBook Pro? Does it make a difference rather than using a Firewire drive?

I've tried using a Tiger MacBook Pro installer that was hacked, that was no go either.

Someone mentioned that I should try installing 10.4 to a different partition while running Leopard? How would that work...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
