i have a mid-2009 MacBook Pro (5,4) that I still use. I was just wondering if anyone knew the latest firmware version and where I could get it. Mine is currently running 1.49f2 on El Capitan 10.11.6.

Thank you for any/all help. :)

If you run the latest security update for 10.11.6, it will contain the latest firmware for your computer. The link to the 2009 firmware above is very out of date.

I have everything updated as of now and that is still the firmware showing. How do I run the security patch?

I tried to run that and it says that my computer does not need that update.

Mac firmware updates are bundled with macOS now (including any macOS updates you may install.) They are not available as standalone downloads anymore.
