I thought about sharing this, in case someone else experienced this issue too :

The internal display of my MacBook Pro A3403 died in a very strange way.
The picture above was taken after a few hours.
Like some 80's thermal paper getting exposed to sunlight.
Dark areas started to appear, slowly eating up most part of the screen in 2 days.
Even with a reboot or forced shutdown, the issue slowly progressed.
Now I only see some areas faintly lighting up, which I presume are my mouse pointer and the login icon.
The HDMI port is working fine though.
I tried most of the things mentioned online but to no avail.
The fact that it slowly turned to black was really weird.
Like some eating bug feeding on the liquid in my Liquid Retina XR display.

Unfortunately it is out of warranty so I guess I will be doomed with a portable monitor unless this is some new kind of flexgate.
