MacBook Pro and Home Sharing

I have a large ripped library on an external HD that I use to Home Share to my ATV4. The iMac I used died and I now have a MacBook Pro. I’m thinking of just sticking with watching from my iTunes in the cloud purchases, but if I want to go back to Home Sharing will it work with the lid closed if iTunes is still running?

I Home Share from my iMac to ATV4 with iTunes open but iMac sleeping. So if lid closed = sleep, then sounds ok.

For MacBook Pro to work with closed lid, you need to have connected:

1. Power supply
2. External monitor
