Apologies if I posted in the wrong forum in advanced.

I currently own a 13'' MacBook Pro : Thunderbolt Model.
The problem I am having is related with the headphone jack. I am getting a red light out of the input. I have done my research prior to posting. I am aware the input believes there is something connected and therefore stuck. I have tried every type of material ( metal, wood, ect ) pin shaped inside to bring back the jack to normal, twisting and turning towards every hour of the clock. No luck. My last resort was the Apple Store. Apple rep instructed me that they need to replace the motherboard... ect ect. With my frustration I decided to go into my Windows partition. Surprisingly i hear all the audio from my computer! Hinting that the jack returned to normal. Eager to find out if my computer was fixed, I logged back into OS X. Same problem. What im basically asking is if anyone has ever had this problem and fixed it software based not hardware.
    Thanks in advanced.
