Macbook Pro Battery Health

Hey guys,

I've recently received my Santa Rosa Macbook Pro replacement and I noticed that the charge remaining on my battery is 5403 mAh. This is after 4 cycles and one of them was a full battery re-calibration.

My first Macbook Pro had a charge remaining of roughly 6000 and that was still after 20 cycles or so. However, this replacement has a larger 200GB 7200 RPM hard drive.

Is the hard drive sucking up the battery life? Or is there something wrong with the battery? Can I get Apple to replace it?

Any help would be appreciated.

The 17inch starts around 6200mAh, and the 15inch starts around 5500mAh. should stay above 80% within 300 cycles. Hope this helps
 
There's no need to recalibrate that often. Apple says every 1-2 months, and lots of people don't recalibrate at all. Doing it after 4 cycles seems a bit much.

Think yourself lucky... my MacBook Pro's battery has done 5 cycles and the full charge capacity is only 370 mAh. 😱 🙄

Yup... time to call Apple for a free replacement battery. 🙂

Had about the same problem but my capacity went down to -1 mAh after about 3 months.

Went in to Apple few days ago and got a free replacement.
 
hey guys, i'm at 54% after 80 cycles. do i just go in to my nearby apple store? do i have to make an appointment with a genius there?
