I have a MacBook Pro 15” Retina Display mid 2012 model. The battery usage says it’s normal and my battery cycle is 488. Is that good? I’m worried because my battery dropped from fully charged to 97% in just a matter of minutes and that’s from my turning it on and looking for this stuff on the laptop.

8 years is pretty old battery. And that drop usually indicates things are working well in the battery.

Install anything new recently. Sounds like something is running and using up your battery. What does Activity Monitor show?
