I apologize if someone has already given the solution for this problem.... I have done some research and I have tried everything that I could, but nothing helps. Here's how my problem developed in time...

1. I started using Google Chrome some weeks ago.... sometimes all of a sudden the screen went black and also the keyboard went black. I had to reset the computer by holding the start button, nothing else helped.

2 I upgraded my OS to Mountain Lion (10.8.3). I also stopped using Google Chrome, thinking the problem was solved.

3. The same black screen/reset problem continued to happen (4-5 times per week), but this time I wasn't using Google Chrome and the computer reset itself (me not helping by holding the start button). I made another research and I decided to reset the NVRM as suggested on the apple support website.

I thought it was over......but no! The same problem happened again! I do not understand the crash log, that is why I post it here and if someone can help me or if someone could give a suggestion how to solve this unbelievably irritating problem, I would be glad!

You mentioned doing a PRAM reset, but have you tried an SMC Reset as well?

Try that first.

Thank you for your help! It seems a lot of people have have been experiencing this problem since 2010. It also seems to me the problem gets bigger when upgrading to Lion and Mountain Lion. Resetting the SMC wouldn't help. Nevertheless the links you have suggested proved helpful. Thank you both guys!

This one proved priceless!!!!!!!! - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3114550

Thank you, swerve147!

Unfortunately I think this problem cannot be resolved, unless changing the logic board. In my case that would cost a lot, because my MacBook Pro guarantee has expired. And there is a bad taste in my mouth. I had the belief that Apple products are ones of premium quality, which proved to be so not true! Of course I know that hardware problems are something normal and can happen to anybody, BUT here we are dealing with WIDESPREAD problem which concerns so many customers! I mean my case is not a single one (due to bad luck or something, which would be OK even for me, because such things happen....) There are so many people complaining about this nVidia 330M! This is an Apple fault, which they should have treated with much greater care.... The good thing is that there are people like you, who really try to help, just because they want to do the right thing! Thank you one more time!
