MacBook Pro black screen

Hi guys
Got a 2010 MBPro that isn't working.
Hard restart and power off, battery charged etc.

Keyboard back light is on, caps lock works, fans whirring but no screen on at all and just remains black.

Well it's been taken in and they are checking it under a quality assurance program.
If not covered its either logic board at £320 plus VAT or the screen £280(?) plus VAT.
Not good for a two year old unit that cost over £1k!

Any advice that anyone can give me then gladly accepted
