Hi,
I am new to this forum, and I am coming here out of desperation. I bought a wonderful new macbook pro 17". I bought it in Japan, where I live, and it has a Japanese keyboard, which is no big deal with OSX. Anyway, I recently purchased an English copy of Windows XP SP2 and installed it on my computer. And to say it doesnt work well, would be putting it lightly. The drivers that boot camp gave me dont work well at all. Airport doesnt work. The eject button doesnt work. The headphones jack doesnt work, and there is a red light shining continually out of it. I saw the post here that had some of the drivers directly from their sources, and they dont work. Every time I install the driver for the Airport card which is apparently called Atheros 5006XS or something, i get this message: There was a problem installing the drivers. Code 10. This device cannot start. I was able to install and play Doom 3 on windows, but I recently installed Half Life 2 and it crashes almost every other time.
Another problem is since there is no "delete" key on the Macbook Pro- its delete key is basically the windows "backspace" key- is there anyway to ctr-alt-delete when a program has problems? I have just been pressing shift-power off, to get the computer to turn off, but i would rather just stop the program.
One last thing, Windows has asserted itself on my comptuer and made itself the default OS. So, if I turn on my computer and I dont press the option button, Windows starts up- not OSX.
I hope someone can help me. Thanks and sorry for the long post.
