*I'm currently in Apple withdrawal. Bear with me. * So, about one week ago (maybe a little more), my MBP started to shutdown very randomly (at about 35-40% life left), and I figured no big deal. I figured I must have done a faulty calibration of something (I had just done one about 2 days beforehand). This problem persisted for a bit, until it seemingly went away. I kept on using it, until one day at school I went to put it back in my backpack, and my friend started freaking out (he owns a MBP C2D (I proudly converted him)). My battery was very swollen (see pics). I decided to do the smart thing and take it out and put it in the front of my backpack (away from my computer). When I got home, I just plugged my laptop in to the wall using the AC adapter and kept on using it. I planned on calling Apple later that day. That's when my LCD screen went too. I noticed that whenever I moved my Mac (while it was on), or the screen was tilted, the screen would produce random white lines on it. Like usual, I just thought "no big deal", and figured it would fix itself. Instead, it just got worse. Sometimes it got to the point where I couldn't even use my screen, because the entire screen was filled with random flashing colors, and it required a reboot to fix it. When it did seem to stop, there were two permanent darker lines (lines meaning about .5 inches thick), one near the top of the screen, and one around half. I took the MBP back to where I purchased it (it had only been about 7 months), and they said they would look at it and if they couldn't fix it (which I'm certain they won't), they would send it back to Apple to look at. Anyways, what I want to ask is: A) Has anyone else had these problems? B) Did I do the right thing? PS: thanks for reading my sob story.
