I connected a external monitor. How do i set it so when i shut my screen on my macbook pro the computer doesent go to sleep so i can use the external monitor. thanks

All you have to do is to wake the Mac after you've closed its lid by moving the mouse or pressing a key on the external keyboard. That's what I'm typing on right now. 🙂

listen to Blue Velvet, i'm doing the same thing. just make sure you have an external mouse and keyboard to wake your computer from sleep.
