I live in the UK, I ordered a macbook pro 15.4" on friday, it is a custom one because I put 4gb of ram in it, now I had an email yesterday saying it had been shipped, its only been one working day.

In that email it says my order will be delivered on or before the 1st of may, on the website it says it will be delivered tomorow.

It also says on the order statement the following "In transit to destination country - next updates expected in 4-5 business days."

So im thinking, tomorow seems way too quick and unlikely because its a custom build, and so does 1st of may, so which one would you think is the right date?

The OP is excited. I know I'd be :) Yippeeee, new MBP!

Anyway, if you got an e-mail confirming it shipped, did it have a tracking number?

Incheon, Korea is where the majority of exports leave Korea. i would say it'll be there in 3-5 days

EDIT: didnt see that you are in the UK. when my shipments left Korea it took about 3-5 days to get to me in Boston. probably the same for the UK as well.

Mine took two days to get from Korea to the Netherlands. Yours might need one extra day, but not longer.

I'd assume they shipped by DHL and Germany is where DHL is based?

Apple uses UPS for shipments.

I've gotten stuff from Apple from DHL (repairs only), UPS and FedEx.
They typically use Fedex for large boxes. I've gotten software, smaller stuff from the online store through UPS though.

ok. that's good to know. i havent ordered much from apple like two products and they always came from FedEx. and the plane crash that happened that effect some computer deliveries was a FedEx plane. RIP.

i wonder why they use FedEx for bigger product and UPS and DHL for smaller stuff.

I think they use whatever's the cheapest. lol I got my iMac via fedex. When I had to send something in it was via DHL.

To the OP, definitely go by the tracking number. UPS is always pretty accurate with delivery dates. It's not that unusual to get stuff pretty quickly from Apple. I did a BTO with my iMac last year and I got it the next day... but then again, I only live like 20 miles from the nearest Apple shipping/distribution center in Elk Grove, CA. :p

in that case maybe they had to check with Germany before they sent it there. that's why Germany popped up before it was even sent.

im guessing in a day it will be in england? it travelled from korea to germany in a day.

this seems quite quick, it said it would ship in 3 days when i ordered it, plus its custom with 4GB ram, my friends MBP took 2 weeks to deliver with the same spec near enough.
