MacBook Pro Early 2011 13 Inch - What sound processor ?

Does anyone know what kind of sound chip it has ?

Just interested because I like the sound of early iPods (with the Wolfson DAC) and MacBook Pro doesnt sound as good as those early iPods.

@BittenApple: They use Cirrus Logic audio chips. At least the 2011 MBPs support TOSLink, which does not use the amplifier in your MBP, IIRC. If your external amplifier supports TOSLink, then use it, because external amplifiers are usually better than the amplifiers in mobile hardware.

Cirrus Logic.

If you're an audiophile, no onboard solution will sound good, you're better off with a dedicated DAC and amp.
