More specs would be nice.... like the screen size, processor, etc.

If it's a 17", it's a steal. 13", not so much. If it's a 15" does it have an upgraded high res display?

Try typing in the specs at www.mac2sell.net .

    1500USD for what specs?
My 17in 2.2GHz/4GB/500GB@7200rpm was about 2300USD at that time.
It will depend on the specs and condition.

Or, spend a little bit less extra and pimp that sucker out with the most ram it will hold and the biggest SSD you can afford.

When you're talking about a 'little bit extra', you're talking about twice what you'll be spending on the ebay model, assuming you'll buy the base rMBP. For a roughly a third of that, you can have the functional equivalent of it, sans the retina display, extra TB port and USB3.

    It's a 2011 model, and not a 2010 model, right?

It takes up to 16 gb of ram....which is selling for $80-100 on newegg, and the HD can take a larger and/or faster HDD or an SSD! Both of which are user serviceable parts.

Processor, and for that matter the GPU, not so much.

    Wait, a 2ghz processor? Eh, that doesn't sound like a 2011....

There was a 2GHz i7 quad core in the early 2011 models. It was the 2635QM.
