I had this MB for over 10 years now. But, something happened to it. When i boot my mac up, it shows nothing but a black screen and really loud fan noises. What may be the issue?

It is a 13” pro, forgot to mention it in the post.
Also forgot to mention, before this happened, the battery already had a problem, the mac cant turn on unless a power cable is plugged in. I replaced the battery but nothing changed.

After a few years of using that mac, my mac suddenly froze(mouse cursor stopped moving and everything stopped functioning) but the fan was still spinning. I unplugged the power cable which completely turned off the mac. I did a nvram reset and it still didnt boot. So, i tried CMD+R to bring up recovery mode, but mac froze while booting into recovery.

I tried taking out the battery and replugged, still same issue. At the time when this problem occurred, the computer still turned on but froze after 5mins of using it.

Now, when i try to turn on my mac, it wont even boot. It boots into a black screen with no chime or no loading bar. All i hear is fan noises.

In that case, rather than GPU or the drive it sounds like CPU is kaput.

You could try swapping the memory to new chips or removing the current memory one chip at a time to see if that helps, or try HD replacement but that's a longshot.

Moving forward from there would require taking it to a repair shop - one that can actually do logic board diagnosis/ repair, even though the quote might come out the same as logic board replacement. (I just don't think anyone should take a unibody MBP to a shop that can't do actual logic board repair as a matter of principle.)
