    Hi!

I have the following problem: my newly purchased MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2013, OS X 10.9.4, refurbished) sometimes freezes, i.e. the screen freezes and no reaction to keyboard or touchpad, and starts ticking exactly like a clock. Since I have flash storage and no HDD, I have no idea what is making that noise. I then have to turn it off and back on again. I use Macs Fan Control, keeping the temperature of the CPU cores below 73 ºC (163 ºF). Any idea what might be ticking inside my mac? Help is greatly appreciated. Regards,

EDIT: I was using Google Chrome, which seems to have an issue with HD 4000 graphic cards, according to this article at gizmodo. It is a little outdated, but I removed Chrome now and will monitor what happens. If somebody knows what causes the ticking noise, I'd still be curious to know, though :)
