Simple question to you guys with multiple monitor setups:

How does the OS resize/rearrange windows when connecting/disconnecting the Macbook Pro from the larger display? I'd imagine it'd have to do something since the resolution on the larger monitor is much greater than the MB screen.

On disconnect, anything that can fit in the internal display will do so. Anything that is 'maximized' or taking up a larger space will be shrunk to fit that space.

Whatever App is in focus will remain in focus. I don't know about everything else.

On reconnect everything will shift to the primary (external) monitor.

Atleast that's my machine's behavior.

Will the MBP save more energy when plugged to an external monitor or with it's own LCD?

I mean, using it's own LCD it needs to power it directly from the battery, but if connected to an external LCD it just needs to pass the signal from GPU to the exernal LCD(if we close the MBP screen and just use the external monitor).
