I have a new MacBook Pro 13" and when I plug it into my monitor the colours are really dark, to the point that dark images look different, the contrast is high and the text is really sharp.

I tried this solution - https://www.mathewinkson.com/2013/0...ix-the-picture-quality-of-an-external-monitor and it helped a lot with the text, before that it was very blurry and difficult to focus, but it didn't help with the colours at all.

Some notes -
  • I'm connecting through HDMI with an adapter. I've tried two adapters Link1 Link2
  • I have a 2011 MacBook Pro (non-retina) and the display is fine
  • when I plug it into this monitor. For this I'm using the same HDMI cable
  • but with a mini display port adapter.
  • I run Windows on this monitor and there are no issues with the display
  • I have my monitor brightness setting maxed out, so I can't adjust it any higher.
Has anyone encountered something similar? Or know the reason why this is happening? Any ideas for a solution?
