I have a fairly (about a month) new macbook pro and there is a weird issue I have never come across before. Whenever I press the power button it freezes up. Nothing responds and the only way to shut it off is to hold down the power button until it shuts off. Any ideas?

Maybe a slightly sticky power button? Mine is brand new and it is quite tough...Can't think of anything else either, but since it's new.....Well, you know what to do🙂

This totally happens to me too!! Maybe you can try resetting the Systems Management Control (SMC) or just take it in to service to get it done. If it's still relatively new, your warranty should allow this to be done for free!
