Macbook Pro Glossy Or Matte

Hi Guys

Im looking to buy a Macbook Pro, but I don't know which screen to buy. Should I buy the matte or the glossy? I write a lot of documents on my laptops and also edit a lot of photos. I use it mainly inside, but occasionally outside.

If its outside, in direct sunlight, and your going to be doing strenuous work (Photo editing, etc) - you will need matte.

Personally, I love the new glossy screens - I just think they should be a B.T.O, not standard on the MacBook.

For what I need, I would get a glossy - they're sharper, brighter, and just look cool as 🙂.

My friend has a glossy and my other friend has a matte. I do not like the glossy at all. We used it outside, what a nightmare. Even when we went inside, we found it was hard to find the right angle in a bright room. However, they are definitely nice screens if you are in a darker/dark room. But I would go with matte if you will be all around with the computer...
 
is it possible to buy a external 3rd party screen protection/enhancer that is simaler to the glossy screen? going back and forth might be pretty useful.
 
I'm personally getting matte, and I think if you're editing pictures you'll want matte too. The fact that colors are more vivid than they really are is kind of a distration for a photographer. I've heard that neither is great for the outside, but matte is probably a little better. Not that I hate glossy screens- I really like them.
 
I've heard lots of different things on the Glossy, a lot of people say that it works a lot better outside than the matte does. I personally have a matte MBP and cant see the screen in the slightest in bright sunlight, my mum just got herself MB so I'm going to see what it's like outside. I personally would go for the glossy if I had a choice, from what I've seen it looks great. All down to personal opinion.
 
My brother has a gloss finish on his laptop (not apple) and it does reflect a lot of ambient light. the best thing to do is try out both. i was wondering this same thing, so i went to a nearby apple reseller (CompUSA in my case) and the matte did not seem that much different from the glossy in my opinon. i would go for the matte, but that's just me.

Thanks for all your help guys...I've ordered 1 of each! Planning on giving 1 to my girlfriend, but im going to pick the one i like best and keep it!
