MacBook Pro Graphics Firmware Update for Unibody 17's

[Next Tuesday]

I just installed the update, and now my 17" MBP doesn't make the Apple Turn on Sound when you first press the power button to turn the computer on. How wierd 🙄 still not very important.

Seems like this update fixed everyones issues because before the update, all you saw was posts about heat, lines and artifacts. And now, theres nothing. Anyone have any feedback?

I didn't have any issues with lines and artifacts before. Just heat issues under bootcamp.

For me the update didn't fix this.

I am a bit confused I received my machine this week and tried updating, it said the update was not for this machine. Also the hinge and magnetic latch are a lot stronger on this march built model, then my previous Jan model.

No I ordered it online on sunday, arrived Tuesday. It is a week 12 build 2009. I have ordered a new CTO one and will pass this one on to my wife.
