Hey! So my mac hasn't been the fastest in the past year or so. And with the upgrade of Lion it seems to have gotten a tad bit slower. So, my questions are what hardware can I buy to improve my mac's performance/speed, is upgrading RAM going to be the best thing to do, etc?

Hopefully this is enough info:
2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
MacBookPro 2,2
2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
ATI Radeon X1600 128 MB

More ram will likely help, as you only have 2gb. Ram is relatively cheap these days so it seems like a no brainer to me.

Edit: Start with ram, most everything else will be a fair amount more expensive.

You can also get a 500 GB 7200 RPM hard drive--like a Hitachi--and that will help some as well.

How much free space do you have on your hard drive?

Crucial's scan said that 4gb of ram would be the maximum (2gb in each slot). Is that enough and/or true?

I have 100gb free out of a 160gb hard drive.
