im looking at ordering a macbook pro for my brother. I have a few questions regarding the base model. Personally both of us watch a lot of movies and we hate seeing reflections when trying to watch movies or sitting in the library and the lights creating glare. Will these things be solved with antiglare. Also lets say apple updates next tuesday will i be able to get a discount, we already have a 2.66 macbook pro and an envy with an i7 and we dont see much of a difference because we rarely tax the processor.

Most likely.
You'll have to wait until they appear in the refurb store; you won't be able to buy old models in stores if new ones are released.
