So end of this month or early November after the presidential elections in the United States
Thanks for this. Hadn't thought of it, but it doesn't stand to reason Apple won't want to be 'upstaged' by the presidential election.

Unfortunately, this will put some people in a bind during Amazon's upcoming Prime Days in about a week if Macs are on big sales; take advantage or wait, not knowing what you're rapidly pending alternative is. I guess Black Friday and Cyber Monday are a bit over a month later...

It's almost as if Gurman doesn't know. If he did know, he would have signed an NDA so wouldn't be able to say. Can someone genuinely point out why everyone seems to listen to him?

M4 ipad has been there for months. If they don’t release the new macs this month, it’s another shame for apple I think

An Apple TV sized Mini is the only thing anybody is interested in. Not enough for a "fun" event.
I, for one, am not particularly interested in an Apple TV sized Mini as it would limit the number of USB/TB ports on the machine. Another concern is the noise from a smaller diameter fan. An external hub just makes things messier, especially if it needs its own power supply.

It does sound there is a market for a Nano, that can be treated more like a laptop without the keyboard or display. It would also be the ideal was of making an iMac replacement that can be upgraded.

while the hardware is nice, the macos seriously could use a lot of improvements. Apple is more concerned about adding novelty features that things that make it more functional. The finder can be highly improved on so is spotlight

Torn between nabbing a M4 Mac mini when they release or just waiting it out for M5. My 2016 MBP still does pretty much everything I need it to on a day-to-day basis.

My poor Retina 27” is obsolete and can no longer be updated to the latest MacOS.

Without a 27” iMac, I will be getting a Mini and 27” Studio Display.
Ditto. Typing this out on a 2017 iMac with no more updates and an out of date Xcode fed up waiting for a worthy updated desktop from Apple. Not all App developers are road warriors Apple...
I had hoped for a Studio but it looks more likely to be Mini & 27" Studio (yeah, I know I can convert my 27" iMac into a screen).

Looking forward to seeing the new Mac mini and iMac. Hopefully iMac retains the bright colours. Also expecting the new Magic accessories sold along with iMac to shift to USB C

I would not expect big things from M5 vs M4 - will just a slightly upgraded 3NM process is my guess
Unless the rumoured redesign doesn’t happen the M4 will be the gen to buy for the Mini at least.

The bigger jump would be M6 or M7 (if M6 is the next gen “M3’ (a stopgap)

i doubt that the new mac mini has the same rounded edges (radius) than the actual model. it looks ugly

I came into this thread hoping to read about a new 27” to replace my 2017 model.

It's absolutely ridiculous and deliberate. It's an insult to loyal customers. Think about it. Everyone wants the 27" or more but no.. they gimp it into 24 + their $$ screen (alternatives not as good). Insulting. Yea sure, don't buy it if you don't like it but.. why not ever consider the customer, some of which have been loyal for decades and still get shafted?
Apple just does not care about high end performance or desktops in general and I’m so sick of it. Where is the updated Mac Studio and pro? The 24” iMac skipped an update.

Things were already bad enough that some workflows where M3 Max > M2 Ultra (especially with GPU tasks). It’s going to be very bad with M4 Max.

Have to wonder if the Mac Studio is done
This is the problem with skipping generations and not updating your pro systems. It gives your customers doubt. I can back to the Mac desktop when the Mac Studio was first released. I’m now debating going back to PC…..and I absolutely hate…immensely…hate Windows.

Love the M2 Ultra Studio, fantastic machine. 🥰

What about "release in October - delivery in November"? Hurry up Tim Apple. My eldest stole my M1 MBP and took it to campus (THX David 👍) giving me the excuse to finally buy a new MBP. So get your act together and give me the new stuff.
