hi. Have a 2017 MacBook Pro 15” from 6 months of use. The keyboard left marks on the screen. Month later. The computer was sent in to the depot to have the top case replaced for the recall. But the screen was misaligned and the screen would turn black for no reason. Apple store is going to replace the screen now. And the bottom panel as they dented it as well. It this a lot of repairs. Considering this Mac is only 7 months old. And what should I do.

Wait for them to repair the Mac, and then consult consumer laws regarding a companies right to repair before you can ask for a replacement or money back. Some countries have these rules, Denmark does, do not know about Canada.
You could also sell it as you at least should have new warranty on the part replaced along with the repair program for the keyboard

Well. I’m in California right now getting this done. Not sure what the difference is in the rules here
[doublepost=1531407861][/doublepost]Should I wait for a Mac replacement till the newer 2018 MacBook Pro comes out?

Ok. Not sure as to what’s going on now. For some reason. I got a Singapore phone call voicemail apparently from Apple and it seems that he called me by accident and started swearing.

I’m also concerned about my top case replacement. As the third generation butterfly mechanism will fix this issue. But for my top case replacement. I’m pretty sure they just replaced it with the same mechanism keyboard. So not sure what to do. Wouldn’t that mean I’ll have the same problem couple months down the line.

Got it back from the two week repairs the screen is still misaligned and the person in the store said its within specs???????

Anyways they said they can realign it but then it needed to be checked in again I'm like  nahhhhh. I told them to leave it in the notes

she said in the demo centre they have a machine to align the screen to the top casing, which im pretty sure is BS, and that in store its done by hand? Uh, it was more unaligned when it was sent into the depot centre. They also replaced the bottom panel and didn't even pop the tabs in place. when I pushed onto it there was an audible loud click

Update on the case. Replacing the MacBook Pro with a 2018 version. But I can’t decide if I should get 16GB or 32GB. I’ve already told them to keep it as 16GB. But I might still be able to change it. Any suggestions. I’m about to head into University. So. Which is better? I do quite a bit of video editing.

Also space grey or silver?

Can you budget the 32gb?
Man, that is a lot just for a laptop tho.
I like the silver, my mba silver held up since 2010 quite well.

I just recently got my 2.5/16/256 MBP 2015 15" (purchased April of this year) back from a 4th repair, and they did not fix the issue. Then, I talked to a senior adviser on the phone, and he ended up replacing it with a brand new 2018 MBP 15" 2.6/16/512/560X.

Glad I am not alone.

Can I ask you what exactly happened with your 2015 MacBook Pro?
Thanks

First the screen coating started failing. Due to contact with the keyboard.
Second was the top case sticky keys
Third screen went black after repair was complete. And dented the bottom panel. Got it back but I’m worried something else will go wrong.

Which ended up me contacting Apple Customer relations. They told me They’ll see what they can do. But surprisingly they said we have one option. We can replace it with a 2018 MacBook Pro 2.6GHz 512GB 16GB 560 graphics. But idk if I should upgrade it to 32GB of ram. The 16GB kept having issues the whole computer would lag when rendering.

1st repair, a key keeps poping out, the replaced the plastic.
2nd repair, key still poping out after a week or two, replaced the top case.
3rd repair, after top case installation, display was making rattling noise when laptop was tilted side to side, replaced top case again.
4th repair, nothing was done, computer within spec, but the noise was even worse with a loose trip wire sound added.

Not only did they replaced it with the 2018 upgrade MBP, but they transfered my 3 year apple care + to the new mac as well.
