Macbook Pro Internal Speakers not registering in system preferences

Hey everyone the internal speakers on my macbook pro are not functioning correctly. Actually to better put it they are working, but I cannot select them in my system preferences. When I go to system preferences the only option for sounds output is a source that says digital output.

So does anyone know how to reactivate my internal speakers?
