Have to say that after all my moaning about everything, I ordered the MBP several hours after the keynote and despite being given a window of delivery going up to 1st December, then will not only have delivered (assuming it arrives today) 1.5wks early, but also on the first day the machines are actually available in the EU so can't have too many complaints.

BUT

I only knew they were delivering today by keeping tabs on the DHL tracker. I've not received any other communication about it, which makes me think there will be an awful lot of folk who are not obsessing about delivery in the same way we are, and will be annoyed to receive the card-through-the-door later today.

Just spoke to them after seeing that the shipment is in Zh at TNT.

I spoke to TNT this morning at 9am and they said that it's feasible they make it today but not sure (perhaps they meant Zh, though). It depends on how long it takes them to get them out of the pallets etc... I believe they ship out of Buchs.

Yeah, if it is in ZH it is probably at Urdorf, that is also where Swiss customs is, so I'd expect it to be there for now. I don't think that they will send it to Buchs to send it back to Zurich for people from Zurich, for Basel I am not sure. But we'll see later. :)

I finalle got through and Apple Support told me the package is stuck somewhere between Eindhoven (?) and Leipzig, it cannot be tracked because apparently it's stuck in customs.

Are they ****ing kidding? Really? Unbelievable. :eek:o_O

It was a DHL delivery so no window, apple's window was 17 Nov - 24 Nov
So they managed to deliver with 2 days to spare (to the later of Apple's 2 dates). That's interesting because my experience in the past has always been that Apple beat, or at least achieve, the earliest date that they quote at the time of the order.

That's really irritating.

This is where the paranoia kicks in.

I'm sure I just heard the door... no one there.

Do I risk having a shower? I don't think so, seems too risky.

Maybe I could watch a movie or play a game to make time go faster, but what if I don't hear the door?

Never mind, I will just sit here in complete silence with a cup of tea. I will not move from this spot until it arrives.

Man, this could be a long day...

Yes indeed. Was having the same thought.
