What are they doing?!?

Two things I am actually not liking or at least not yet getting used to it.

Just received my 15" MBP:
- very heavy power supply
- hearing strange noise out of both speaker during "encrypting" the disc. Looks like you will hear when your laptop is at least heavily working on the SSD

Anyone with the same issues - at least with the second one?

I'm in that same dreaded window, 16:11 ... no update from dhl whatsover, I ordered within minutes after the keynote, something must have gone wrong and nobody knows anythings. Terribly frustrating.

Yeah same here, not sure what all this customs stuff is about though. The latest batch tracking I saw showed it had left Luxembourg, arrived in Amsterdam yesterday afternoon and cleared customs. Basically still waiting for DHL express to collect from Apple.

Spoke to DHL this morning and they confirmed they're just waiting for the item.

That is if our macbooks are in that batch.

Same batch here. Apple support said that the batch has departed from Amsterdam and on the way to U.K. Waiting for good news now from DHL...

I'm at work right now so unable to read through the 30 pages posted since last night. Anyone in the dreaded 15:30-16:30 Thursday 17th dispatch window had any progress with DHL? Mine is still stuck on Shipment information Received.

Me too 16:09.

Starting to think our Macbooks don't exist at all!

Finally got through to someone at Apple who could confirm mine was part of 7cp2810 so guess it is just the waiting game now then.

I don't have my 2016 MBP yet (it's part of the 'lost' batch), but this is a reasonably common occurrence with modern electronics. It can be caused by a number of things — sometimes EMF crosstalk between components close together, sometimes the power components as the CPU comes in and out of low-power state hundreds of times per second, etc etc.

Most recently, iPhone 7 models have been doing it: iPhone 7 models making noise

Yep. All I want to know from Apple is do I take tomorrow or Thursday off work. They seem completely unable to give a straight answer though.

Can't believe it's this difficult, for a company with more cash than the whole US treasury, to ship a product in 2016.

Mega annoying!

DHL told me that the courier won't be back at the depot before 7pm. Which means I'll have to collect it tomorrow afternoon when I finish work.

I am going to go to the depot just before 7 and hope that he gets back earlier but it is just really annoying that Apple make you sign for it in the UK but not the US.

Mine's out for delivery. Probably won't have it until Sunday, but after this long, the extra few days don't seem so bad! Hope everyone enjoys their new machine when (/if) it arrives today.

I have exactly the same as you: ....16:11

A lot of the posts yesterday started showing up on the DHL tracking in the afternoon so I'm hoping/praying we'll be the same.

All I can see from these is certain batches went through Luxembourg and, for some reason, are taking longer for DHL to collect and start things moving.

It looks to me like they went through customs fine and are with Apple in The Netherlands waiting to be collected?

I think yesterday the truck was full (or something similar). That our orders get delayed to be shipped today.

As per the screenshot shared from another user located in CH (from Sep, Apple Watch) this step (2nd transit and 2nd "received at TNT location") was to be expected so, going by that, it should actually be a good sign :)

Still waiting for that step to happen... All the packages were not in the same truck between Arhnem and ZH ?

Unless you were planning on curing a disease tonight, I think you can all spare a few extra days and calm down. You most likely already have a fully functioning laptop in the first place.

I'm leaving the country, releasing an App Store app update with TB support, and waste three minutes clean compiling my project. I could definitely do with the machine, but I'm not going to flip out if it arrives on Dec 1st (last day of my window)

Go outside and enjoy the sun (or snow if you're north of Germany :D)
