I ordered a "13 Macbook with TB and 16Gb RAM on November 17 through an Apple reseller in Slovakia (since we don't have Apple stores). Do you know if there would be any delay compared to standard orders through Apple website? They informed me that they've ordered the Macbook on November 18, but they are unable to provide any tracking information :/ I hope I will be getting mine before Christmas since there are people here that ordered after me with estimated delivery on December 22.

I received an email that My MacBook was shipped today at 17:17.

Can anybody tell me what this means? Is it still in China? When will it be delivered? I tried the post of johnyivesroom, but can't figure it out.
Some help would be grately appreciated.

It's crazy how messed up the shipping has got, I've read on this thread people placing orders on the 4th November and only now getting to P4S or shipped and then there's the lucky ones who've ordered on 26th November who have had theirs shipped by the 12th December!? I ordered on the 27th and honestly can't stop myself obsessively checking the orders page just in case mine has gone to P4S as the randomness makes it fairly likely that it could!

How do you know it flew to Leipzig?
Is your DHL ID working?

Because from my Status on the Apple webpage I only know its in AMS.

Actually I cannot even see it is in Amsterdam... No DHL tracking ID such far which would give me much detail. I truely hope it is not held due to customs clearance. Gosh, this expedited shipping is slow.

I ordered on November 20 a Macbook Pro (13'') with Touch Bar, 3.3 GHz i7, 16 GB RAM and 512 GB SSD. According to Apple it left Shanghai on December 14.
Here is also a screenshot from DHL's website.

just wondering if mine is in the same container :p it was dispatched on 14.12. too... but my order doesnt give any tracking number and it has been at "appointment request" already couple of days. i have no idea what that means but i quess, it is on its way... somewhere... (est.deliv. date is still 27.12.)

Edit. i quess "appointment request" means that they are collecting items in somewhere (i quess here in europe) and the computer only came from china:

Please Note: Your items dispatched from different locations and will be merged together before delivery. Once merged, your Order Status will be updated with carrier and tracking information (at least 48 business hours before your estimated delivery date).

My DHL tracking also says that mine was in Leipzig, and that it now is on its way somewhere else. Here is a ss of what it looks like for me:

P4S date: 2016-12-10
Shipped date: 2016-12-13
Estimated Delivery: 2016-12-20
Original Window: 2016-12-22 - 2017-01-04
Configuration: 15/2.9/1TB/460

Merry Christmas to me! :)

Final update - Delivered to my door 2016-12-16! What a beautiful machine! The hardware itself is gorgeous, even more apparent when in your own possession than when sitting in an Apple Store.

Didn't have time for much other than opening it, haven't even turned it on yet, had to run out to a client's employee Xmas dinner, but will do a final report/roundup later today!

My original 4-6 week estimate ended up being 3 weeks and 3 days. Seems like I had a better than average experience! Hope everyone in my order window who are still waiting get their machines soon!

Here's my completed tracking slip. Make sure you are using the DHL Express site for tracking as just using the dhl.de site gave me a "we have no information on this shipment" message.

It seems like most orders, at least for Scandinavia, go through Leipzig for whatever reason, and then Copenhagen.

Yeah, what else did you order with the laptop? always best to either make seperate orders, or make sure to select to ship separately. There are always delays, sometimes long ones, if you choose to put different items with different availability together in one shipment...I learned that the hard way a couple of years ago! Hope your delay isn't too long!

Does anyone else think it's a little cheeky of Apple to start our Apple Care plan on the day of shipping, as opposed to the day of delivery?
Maybe...maybe not? It may be good for the customer, any issues that could possibly be traced to damage during shipment just get covered without the hassle and process of getting the shipping company involved. Otherwise, Apple could just say, "Apple Care doesn't cover anything that could be traced to or caused during shipping. Contact the shipping company to make a claim."

That would not be nice...

I don't believe it.. I'm P4S!

Yep, me too. I remember years ago had the exact same thing with a previous Mac. I called AppleCare with the very same question and they replied that "nah we're not going by the exact date of expiration if it should come to it". Liability of transport damage rests at Apple's sub-contractors (DHL and others) till the moment you sign for your package. Should you receive it broken, report it to Apple and they'll deal with it.

Got shipping notification of my MBP 15" yesterday 16 December 12:11 (CET?), got the AppleCare certificate this morning, and at the DHL site I can just wait till they take possession of my Mac in Holland, before I see any movement at all on the DHL site.

I was thinking the same, to cover shipping damage. But I would have though that Apple would be covered through some extensive contract with their shipping partners for damage during transit.

Either way, I'm not particularly fussed for a few days. But was just curious why they couldn't cover from day of delivery.

I don't think our legal rights over the product begin until we sign for the item.

That sounds right. Imagine if the MacBook developed an issue on say 17th Dec 2019. Am sure they would honour it!!

My dates are the same. Got my Apple Care email this morning, too. I'm hoping for delivery on Tuesday (although delivery date says 22nd).
