Macbook Pro long connection time

Hey everybody,

I recently switched to Lion on my 2011 macbook pro, works like a charm, but since the last update my wireless acts weird: Every time I open the lid, it connects to a network in range, says it's connected, but I don't have internet for two minutes or so. Reconnecting doesn't help, it just takes long before it realizes there is internet.

Any ideas?

I just started running into this. I'm connected, I can ping 4.2.2.1, use curl from the command line, etc, but No APPS (Safari, Chrome, iChat, Mail, etc) think I'm connected until about 2 minutes or so pass. It just started happening today, right after I installed the following updates (I did all 4 at a time... not sure which one did it):

Safari 5.1.2
Thunderbolt Firmware Update 1.0
MacBook Pro EFI Firmware Update
MacBook Pro SMC Firmware Update

Really frustrating. I was waiting a long time to install these firmware updates because last time I did it bricked my laptop (fortunately laptop was covered by Applecare). This is the least pleasant experience I've had with MacBooks, seriously... feel like Apple is dropping the ball.

Reset PMC seemed to work

I went ahead and shutdown, reset the PMC (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964) and then the problem went away.

I was having some funky things happen where my screen would not turn on for 30 seconds or so after opening laptop from sleep.

Seems to be all happy now.
