This benchmark shows MacBook Pro M1 8 core has a different hardware configuration compared to the MacBook Air 8 core to differentiate from Pro to none pro Macs.

(Top left MacBook Air 7 core - Top right MacBook Air 8 core)
Middle MacBook Pro M1 8 core

but during the benchmark the fan never turned on. You can check on teardowns M1 MBP 13'' has a bigger motherboard layout compared to the M1 Air.

The Pro simply has a higher power target and more cooling capacity. It can sustain higher clocks for longer.

By the way, you can use powermetrics command line tool (part of macOS) to monitor the GPU power while running the tests. Could show something interesting.
