Macbook Pro maximum ram

Just bought a macbook pro 15.4" model.

What is the maximum amount of RAM I can put? On the website, it says max is 4gig which seems ridiculous considering the fact that it's a penryn based chipset and standard is becoming 6gig-8gig.
