Macbook Pro Memory in Macbook (late 2006)

I know they are technically different (speed) but can I put my Macbook Pro memory (default of 2GB RAM) in my wife white Macbook (default 1 GB RAM)?

Probably not but I wanted to know if anyone has tried anyway.

So long as they're both DDR2 it should work.
