Macbook Pro Memory with Windows running

hello everyone.

I have the 17in Macbook Pro i5 and use parrellels to run windows on it. the computer currently has 4gbs of ram...a couple of the programs i run in windows kinda of stutter/ slight hang a bit while im using them. Is this due to a lack of memory? and would bumping the memory from 4gb to 6gb help me out?

How much RAM have you assigned to the Windows VM in your VM settings in Parallels?

I let the computer determine how much to use of the memory. I believe that's the name of the option i have it in.

check how much RAM the virtual machine is using in Activity Monitor.

You probably have it set too low.
