Hi

Last night my MacBook Pro 15" Mid- 2015 randomly shut down- according to the laptop it was 20% charged. I plugged my charger in and no light. I checked my charger and it works with other laptops so I'm guessing it's some type of computer problem.

Something interesting: When I plug the charger into my sister's laptop, it will charge normally and when I plug it into mine, the light shows, except after 5 minutes it will slowly fade to nothing.

I've tried SMC reset and I'm at a loss here. I got my Macbook's logic board replaced a couple weeks ago by a very respected business, so I'm super confused here.

Sounds like maybe there’s a problem with the new logic board! I would start there, could be they replaced yours with a faulty one. How many charges on the battery, was it I’m ever replaced?

I want to think the best of the repair shop since they are very respected and I really don't think they would do that but I won't rule out a faulty logic board. I've never replaced the battery, I never checked the battery (I know stupid).

Yeah, sounds like it could be the battery, but now’s a bad time to do a battery replacement! I’d recommend doing the Apple store but they’re closed now. If stores were open I’d suggest you take it in to be evaluated, Apple has a monopoly on the good batteries. As for the repair shop. It could have been an honest mistake, there’s always some problems that come up in that line of business, and if they didn’t give you a brand new logic board, it could have been an existing intermittent issue.

Mine doesn't show the charging light and many times doesn't charge either. I simply blow inside the charging port, and it works again. Lots of dust gets in there for some reason.
