I have a MacBook Pro, and the sound has stopped coming out of the speakers. I can still hear with headphones. I have been putting the headphone plug in and out a lot, so I suspect it has to something to do with the connection there, or with the laptop understanding that the headphone plug is not in.

Any suggestions on how to fix it when I have unplugged the headphones and want sound from the speakers, but am getting no sound?

Did you try going into the settings for "Sound"? There might be something you can do in the input/output section to fix this issue. Just a guess. I've had issues like that before with other computers. This article from Apple might be a start.

The only input/output option I can find in System Preferences/Sound is ensuring that internal speakers are selected for audio output... which they are. I'm hoping someone will have a miracle tip which will help me avoid what that Apple article seems to point me to, which is: 'If the issues persist, contact Apple support for further troubleshooting assistance.' Sounds expensive... :(

Meant to add... I tried a reboot, but it started up again with still no sounds. Help?
