This morning I put my macbook under charge with the usb-c cable and apple power brick and after a while I saw that the machine was keeping going down with the charge.

The icon is like if is charging, the monitor is slightly more bright but it says "not charging".

Then I tried to use my Nexus 5x charger and the machine actually charges.
Then I used the macbook brick with my Nexus 5x and the Nexus charges.

So I think the problem might be software?
I rebooted several times, I resetted the SMC and NVRAM but nothing changed.

What am I supposed to do?

Take the computer AND charger back to an Apple Store.
Chances are, they're replace the charger.

I even tried under windows with bootcamp and the machine charges regularly in windows with the apple charger...

Given that it works in Windows, I'd try a clean install of Sierra. Test it before you add other software.

Jesus, what has happened to Apple? All these issues make me just want to keep using my mid 2012 forever. Most important thing behind speed & battery life in a laptop for me is reliability.

Not a common issue. And it isn't as though Apple didn't have issues before, including with the 2012, for which there was a logic board replacement program, staingate, etc.

Why not take it back to Apple and let them diagnosis the issue.

It may be software, or a may be a combination of hardware and software. As users we should not have to reload the OS to try fix issues. Also, taking it in causes the problem to be logged in Apple databases, and may help the teams diagnosis similar problems in the future.

Do a PRAM and SMC reset before you bother apple with your issue. I suspect that this will help you.

Not to be rude but you should read at least the first post in full before bothering with suggestions of not bothering mother Apple!

I tried every possible reset and I even tried a clean installation, didn't help! As soon as I was welcomed in my new machine I connected the cable and got the "not charging" label.

At this point I think is a hardware issue, either from the charger or from the laptop. I think is some "smart" mechanisms of communication between the two that regulates when power is needed. Since the original charger works perfectly under windows but not under OS X (probably there are no drivers for this controller or whatever regulates energy). While a 3rd party charger works fine under OS X (again it might means that there is no smart handshake to regulate the power needs) .

Since I'm not close to an Apple store but I will be in London on Thursday I will try to pop in one and try one of the charger on the tables. If it charges is the charger controller broken so I will just ask for a replace. If it doesn't I hope they will help me with a laptop exchange since I live 400km away and I can't go back and forth and stay days without my working machine! Furthermore I don't have a reservation, they are fully booked for weeks! But I can't wait that long or go back to London again soon.

I don't want to be or sound bitchy but I am very frustrated with a machine 2 months old that I regularly use for work.

EDIT: it completely stopped charging even with the smartphone charger. So definitely is a laptop hardware problem. Though it continues to charge under windows with both chargers
