Macbook Pro or iMAC dont know where to start

I'd say go for the iMac unless you need portability. Use the money you save over the MBP to buy yourself a Time Capsule to backup your work. If you are worried about display accuracy then by all means buy a second monitor - would probably still come in cheaper than the MBP and in my opinion would be better value.
