    Hi all,

I have a 3 year old Macbook Pro 2.16 C2D that had served me great to this point, apart from now needing my second DVD drive. I want to get the NFL Game Pass this year to stream live games but when I tried the off season trial I couldn't even watch a half without the MBP getting extremely hot and then the sound going strange on the stream, followed by the stream stuttering and then completely stopping. It does the same when watching BBC Iplayer, again about an hour and half, followed by the same symptoms.

I have 50 days left of Applecare but am wondering if anyone else has suffered similar problems. My guess would be a faulty fan but I am loathe to spend the $230 if I'm never going to be able to watch more than a half per week!

If you have AppleCare why not call them up and talk to them about it?
It'd get you much farther than posting on Macrumors.
It sounds like a faulty fan or fan controller. I wouldn't watch or do anything that might overheat it or cause it to get too hot as it could cause futher damage.

    Give Apple a ring.
