Macbook Pro promotion?

So in canada right now, there is a promo at the apple store that states customers can get a 100$ rebate on a new printer when they buy a MacBook or MacBook Pro. Is this an indication that they are trying to clear inventory and the MBP will get updated soon?
or am I just too impatient XD

I saw this promotion for a long time and it still is and both US and Belgian store, and you get the rebate to if you buy an iMac or a MacPro (just checked, also the Mac mini, so in fact every Mac)
And besides you get a rebate on a printer not on your Mac.

This promotion runs at all different times, seemingly regardless of clearing stock or a new model.
