The MacBook will be silver + black bezel then.
90% sure. :D

Would a plastic black bezel allow for wireless antenna's to get better reception? Then they could keep the rest aluminum and tout how 'Green' the new laptops are? I mean you don't need wireless reception while the computer is closed right?

Doesn't it already have a magnetic latch?
The current MacBook Pro does not have a magnetic latch at all.

If the black bezel is made out of plastic, then it could help wireless reception some-what. Of course they are going to keep the rest of the MacBook aluminium.
So, the new MacBook will probably look similar to the current aluminium iMac.

The price of a macbook...lit keyboard, LED screen.

You see, I think the competition is really going to heat up in the laptop and even netbook or subnotebook market and apple has to be able to perform.

LOL at the "super multi drive" who the hell named that? (sounds like badly translated anime to me)

but seeing as it has RAM capacity up to 8 gigs........Are you watching apple?

Sweet @$$ book. I am still taken back by the Alienware models. And honestly, the Sonies are bringing me to tears.

Let me know when 4GB laptop DIMMs are available for purchase... :D

Dell's been doing that since Penryn, but since there are no chips that size yet, it's like saying the laptop has HDD capacities up to 2TBs. Now just wait for the 2TB laptop SATA drive to come to market.

I'm saying that because I'd like to hold on to my computer for at least 4-5 years, and by then 8GB will deffinatly be somewhat cheap.

Im more of a future proofer than a buy the newest version person.

A big part of it is that Apple's notebooks are so out of date, but dang, the competition is heating up and they really need to step it up this time around.

hope they dont but im pretty sure they wont do it:apple:

Good to know, I guess I'm gonna buy 4Gbx2 in second half of October.

MacOS+Fusion2+Vista64+all 3d apps I'm working with.....damn Steve, what are you waiting for?

That is of course assuming they don't move to DDR3, which is 3x as much money or more. Yay.

At what point do we hit the RAM ceiling? Or the GHz ceiling or HD capacity ceiling for that matter? At what amount of RAM, GHz, cache, GBps, and memory does a computer operate with such speed and efficiency that a human being, experiencing time at approximately 1 second per second, could not possibly feel the effects of any sort of lag running a theoretical massive application suite (Adobe CS 10???)?

there will never be a limit, maybe one to what we think is feasable, but 5 years later that ceiling will be shattered.

I remember a quote of bill gates saying he couldnt see anyone ever using more than (correct me on this cuz i know its wrong) about 500 kb or sumthing, a number we find laughable today, but it was massive at the time.

Technology grows in leaps and bounds my friend.

When the computers start to look like this:

Can I get an AMEN out of anybody? You are so right. I was in Costco today and you can get a laptop that does WAYYYY more than a Macbook Pro for about $1300.

Time to get back in the game. I just hope they can WOW us with the update.

Now is when the "quality" comments arrive.

I'll admit to buying a computer for quality... but not longevity. So if anyone chimes in saying Apples last 5 years... then I'll pre-ask: "Who wants a 4 or 5 y.o. laptop?"

So many of us go with cheaper machines because we know we'll want a new one within a year or two.
