Ok so I saw this on the refurb store

Refurbished MacBook Pro 2.93GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    15.4-inch LED-backlit glossy widescreen display
    4GB memory
    320GB hard drive
    8x SuperDrive (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
    Built-in iSight camera
    Illuminated keyboard

A new released model by contrast

    3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    4GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x2GB
    320GB Serial ATA Drive @ 7200 rpm
    SuperDrive 8x (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
MacBook Pro 15-inch Glossy Widescreen Display
Backlit Keyboard (British) & User’s Guide (English)

So €800 difference for small speed difference (2.93 - 3.06) and a SD Card Slot.

Which of course means the refurb is great value, and I'm tempted to order right now.

I haven't has a macbook pro since they changed them to LED screens and such, so I'm just wondering if any of you helpful chaps can tell me..

Is the unibody aluminum enclosure the same as the current models that were just updated, and is the battery the same...

That refurb model is pre-WWDC and I think it's good value. The only thing you really lose out on is the 7-hour battery. Higher gamut isn't that significant since the 15" MacBook Pro's already had a very impressive screen.

Casing- Yes I do believe is the same

Battery- NO, the new MBP released in June adopted the battery from the 17" Unibody which a 7 hr built-in battery. Which means longer battery life but you cannot swap batterys

    Thanks peeps. :)

So time to decide if the extra couple of hours battery life is worth the significantly higher price.

How long was the battery life from that model ? Will I at least get maybe 4 hours ?
