I'm thinking of upgrading my hard drive and replacing the superdrive in this MBP I have and I noticed a missing screw in the bottom. I'm certain that this model is the 15" 2Ghz CoreDuo MA600LL.

Anyone know the thread spec/size on these screws?

I don't know that much about screws but here is the data from the ifixit it guide on those four particular screws.

Screws : 4
Type: Phillips #00
Length: 14.3 mm
Color: Silver

Check eBay - there are usually sets for particular machines available.

What would you put in your search, I'm not getting any hits with "MA600LL screws" or "screws for macbook pro".

Darn, if only it said what the screw number was. Bigger screws are typically identified by diameter and threads per inch but screws these small may just have a number.

From what I can find, the bottom/rear screws are the same from the original CD to 2008 C2D - they're "M2 x 14", 4mm x 14.4mm. Part number from the last Aluminum (non-UB) back to the C2D, Oct. 2006, is 922-7309.

I would try a search just on Macbook Pro 15". They're all the same (for those 4 screws) before the unibody.

Thanks, I'll continue looking.

call up an authorized apple reseller/repair place...they may even sell them. I have heard of stories that even apple will have extras in stock at an apple store.
Doesnt hurt to call and ask, its not like they will ask for your S/N or anything.
